Texts

ἀνδράσιν Ἑρμῆς εἰμι, γυναιξὶ δὲ Κύπρις ὁρῶμαι
ἀμφοτέρων δὲ φέρω σύμβολά μοι τοκέων.
τοὔνεκεν οὐκ ἀλόγως με τὸν Ἑρμαφρόδιτον ἔθεντο
ἀνδρογύνοις λουτροῖς παῖδα τὸν ἀμφίβολον.

To men I am Hermes, but to women appear to be
Aphrodite, and I bear the tokens of both my parents.
Therefore not inappropriately they put me, the
Hermaphrodite, the child of doubtful sex, in a bath
for both sexes.
